The Kurdish Red Crescent holds its third conference, and elects its new co-directors

 
The Kurdish Red Crescent organization had held its third conference on Friday in the city of Qamishlo, under the title of “with hope and cooperation, we build a bright future”, and it was attended by its members, staff, its partners in the humanitarian field, and also a number of administrators from The Self Administration which are represented by the Health Committee, and The Movement of the Democratic Community (Tev-dem)and kongrastar
The activities of the third conference of the Kurdish Red Crescent started with the moment of silence for the martyrs, and the victims of war and disasters.
A documentary was shown about the work of KRC in North-East Syria on the span of 2 years (2022-2023), which were full of difficult challenges, and some of these challenges and difficulties were caused by the Turkish state’s attacks, and what they caused of casualties, and destruction of infrastructure, and also the disastrous earth quake that hit on January of this year.
After the documentary was shown, the reports of the departments and health centres of KRC were read, then the space was open for recommendations of the members to be heard, in order to improve the health, and aid situation in accordance to the circumstances of the North-East Syria regions, and also to be discussed by the attending members.
Then the internal system of KRC was read which had the needed changes and editing according to the situation and its challenges.
And after the reading and discussion about the new internal system, both Mr. Dilgesh Issa and Mrs. Khadija Musa Were elected as the new co-directors of the Kurdish Red Crescent and they will lead its activities and efforts for the next 2years.

In Sulaymaniya city the word charity day festival

The Kurdish Red Crescent branch in the Kurdistan Bashour participated in the World Charity Day festival, which was held yesterday (5/9/2023) in the city of Sulaymaniyah. The festival was attended by 45 organizations, religious institutions, and a group for showcasing charitable humanitarian projects and works. The Kurdish Red Crescent also showcased the projects and works it has implemented in previous years to support refugees, internally displaced persons, and the local community in the Kurdistan region.

The Kurdish Red Crescent has alleviated the burden of baby supplies in the Shahba camps.

 In light of the high prices of goods and necessities, especially for children, which adds additional burdens to the displaced, our teams distributed diapers to children from newborns up to one year old in the Shahba areas camps (Berkadan camp – Sardam camp – Afrin camp – Al-Awda camp – Keshetar camp). The total number of beneficiaries from the distribution was 300 children.

The drinking water distribution project in Al-Shahba’ has been launched

The drinking water distribution project for camps, and villages in Al-Shahba’ area as a part of a series of projects done by the Kurdish Red Crescent, with the support of the Swiss orgenization Medico International, and in cooperation with the local administration in Al-Shahba’ areas.

The Kurdish Red Crescnet is launching new projects to provide water in Al-Shahba’ area.

Due to the scorching tempretures, and the water shortage in Al-Shaba’ area, KRC have started a series of projects to dig and prepare wells that will provide water for more than 3800 refugees in Serdem camp.

And similer projects will be launched in Berxwedan camp and Al-Ahdath district

Renovating Afrin Hospital and improving the health situation in al-Shahba

 
Despite the capabilities and exceptional circumstances that the Shahba region is going through, our teams in the Kurdish Red Crescent have started a project to restore Afrin Hospital, which is visited by 13,000 patients monthly, and references from the regions and villages of Shahba, and receives their cases from clinics and ambulances, including performing surgeries.
The following sections of the hospital will be restored (operating room – laboratory – intensive care).
The restoration operations will last up to 60 days.

Continuing the distribution of aid in the villages of al-Shahba

 
Our teams in the Kurdish Red Crescent distributed aid and supplies to the families and displaced people residing in the villages of (Harbel – Umm Al-Housh – Umm Al-Qura) affiliated to Al-Shahba, where the aid included (360) bags of baby diapers, and (1200) shares of rice.
It is worth noting that since the earthquake occurred on the sixth of last February, the efforts of the Kurdish Red Crescent continue to provide health care and aid.
