Awareness campaign about the negatives of cesarean section

With the aim of raising the level of health education among them in the Shahba and Jazeera regions, health education teams affiliated with the Kurdish Red Crescent, in coordination with the Women’s Committee, have conducted a series of awareness lectures on the benefits of natural childbirth, breastfeeding, and the negatives of cesarean section and artificial feeding. This also included the distribution of thousands of awareness brochures within camps and villages, as well as medical points affiliated with the Kurdish Red Crescent and villages.
With the provision of proper healthcare, it is not impossible to overcome diabetes.

Ibrahim Khudair Al-Hamoud, a fifty-year-old displaced person from the city of Serekaniye/Ras al-Ain, lives in the Serekaniye “Al-Talaeen” camp in eastern Al-Hasakah. He suffers from diabetes, which has affected his right foot. He receives care from the Kurdish Red Crescent point, where the medical team visits him regularly to receive care in the emergency department, including cleaning and sterilizing the affected foot, providing diabetes medication anti-biotics from the point’s pharmacy, after examinations and dietary instructions from the internal clinic, Mr. Ibrahim resumes walking on his feet, heading towards his tent, as if he is saying to the disease, “I will overcome you” .
2,000 monthly beneficiaries of medical services in the Shahba areas

It receives approximately 2,000 beneficiaries monthly in the internal, pediatric, gynecological, emergency, pharmacy, leishmaniasis, protection, and psychosocial departments.
It is worth mentioning that the staff at the medical point intensify training related to the medical services provided, especially as winter approaches, as the number of patients increases due to the harsh conditions they are living in, leading to several seasonal diseases.
In Sulaymaniya city the word charity day festival
/0 Comments/in Development, Stories/by SozdarThe Kurdish Red Crescent branch in the Kurdistan Bashour participated in the World Charity Day festival, which was held yesterday (5/9/2023) in the city of Sulaymaniyah. The festival was attended by 45 organizations, religious institutions, and a group for showcasing charitable humanitarian projects and works. The Kurdish Red Crescent also showcased the projects and works it has implemented in previous years to support refugees, internally displaced persons, and the local community in the Kurdistan region.
The Kurdish Red Crescent provided immediate and urgent first aid to two children from the village of Al-Salmasa in the countryside of Tel Tamr.

The total number of beneficiaries from the distribution was 300 children.
