Yesterday, 25th of December, the Turkish state conducted a major attack on northeast Syria
with airstrikes. The airstrikes continued until late at night. At least 8 people died in the
attacks and 15 were injured.
The main targets were civilian infrastructure. In Kobane an outpatient clinic specialized in
diabetes and supported through a German association was hit and destroyed. Fortunately,
the clinic was closed due to Christmas holidays and no casualties were reported. This center
was serving mainly the elderly people in Kobane city and villages through a mobile clinic.
Now there is no chance to obtain the same services. Fortunately, the clinic was closed due to

After two years of construction and preparation work, the Kurdish Red Crescent opens a new medical facility
Due to the conditions that people in the regions of northern and eastern Syria have suffered from, the difficulties of traveling and the high costs of receiving treatment in other regions, the Kurdish Red Crescent Organization opened this evening the Oncology, Burns and Thalassemia Hospital in the city of Qamishlo in the presence of friends, partners and institutions in the Democratic Autonomous Administration, after two years of construction work. It will begin to provide services to patients in the oncology department, which includes tumours and blood diseases, with the cooperation and volunteering of a number of specialized doctors, so that this new medical facility will receive patients from all regions of Syria.

The Kurdish Red Crescent celebrates its eleventh anniversary, and on this occasion, the organization extends its gratitude and appreciation to every member who contributed to providing medical and humanitarian services to every person inside and outside the areas of northern and eastern Syria, and to every volunteer who had trust in our work and was a helping hand in crises and disasters. All the services provided are not complete without the love and cooperation of everyone

On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and under the slogan “Do not judge me by my disability, give me the opportunity to show my abilities”, the Kurdish Red Crescent organization, in collaboration with the Nodom organization, organized an event for children. The event included theatrical activities, singing for children, as well as face painting and distribution of gifts, with the aim of integrating children with disabilities with children without disabilities.

With the advent of winter and the difficulties faced by the displaced in the camps, the Kurdish Red Crescent distributed a batch of clothes for all age groups, especially children, in the Washokani camp for the displaced, west of the city of Hasakah.
The distribution process was coordinated between the Kurdish Red Crescent Center in the camp and the communes, to ensure that the clothes reach the largest possible number of beneficiaries.

“Yes for Life” campaign ends its activities

In order to achieve a positive impact in society by educating young people, promoting awareness of the dangers of drugs, encouraging healthy life and avoiding substance abuse, and promoting positive values and community cooperation to combat this problem, the Kurdish Red Crescent implements the anti-drug initiative titled “Yes for Life” in partnership with the Lamasat Al Khair Association for Relief and Development in the city of Raqqa, where the initiative targets five neighborhoods in the city of Raqqa “Al-Bedu, Diriyah, Al-Mukhtalatah, Al-Furat, Rumaila” through concentrated sessions targeting the youth, with an average of twenty young men and women from each neighborhood.

The Kurdish Red Crescent holds its third conference, and elects its new co-directors

The Kurdish Red Crescent organization had held its third conference on Friday in the city of Qamishlo, under the title of “with hope and cooperation, we build a bright future”, and it was attended by its members, staff, its partners in the humanitarian field, and also a number of administrators from The Self Administration which are represented by the Health Committee, and The Movement of the Democratic Community (Tev-dem)and kongrastar
The activities of the third conference of the Kurdish Red Crescent started with the moment of silence for the martyrs, and the victims of war and disasters.
A documentary was shown about the work of KRC in North-East Syria on the span of 2 years (2022-2023), which were full of difficult challenges, and some of these challenges and difficulties were caused by the Turkish state’s attacks, and what they caused of casualties, and destruction of infrastructure, and also the disastrous earth quake that hit on January of this year.
After the documentary was shown, the reports of the departments and health centres of KRC were read, then the space was open for recommendations of the members to be heard, in order to improve the health, and aid situation in accordance to the circumstances of the North-East Syria regions, and also to be discussed by the attending members.
Then the internal system of KRC was read which had the needed changes and editing according to the situation and its challenges.
And after the reading and discussion about the new internal system, both Mr. Dilgesh Issa and Mrs. Khadija Musa Were elected as the new co-directors of the Kurdish Red Crescent and they will lead its activities and efforts for the next 2years.

Continuing to distribute drinking water to people in the city of Hasakah

Within the Medico Switzerland project, the Kurdish Red Crescent, in coordination with councils and communes, is still distributing water to people in the neighborhoods of the city of Hasakah, which is witnessing a stifling crisis in securing drinking water as a result of its interruption from the Alouk station in the countryside of Sere Kaniye/Ras al-Ain, occupied by the Turkish state.
The Kurdish Red Crescent team supervising the distribution process checks the quality of the water and ensures its suitability for drinking before distributing it according to an organized schedule to the people.
