In order to maintain public safety and prevent the spread of epidemics and diseases, as well as to protect the environment, the Kurdish Red Crescent’s WASH sector , in cooperation with donors and local institutions, is following up the project of sorting medical waste and intact disposal of it through a specialized and trained team by establishing medical waste areas in several cities and camps in northern and eastern Syria, where medical waste is collected from hospitals and health centers, and those in camps, and transporting it to medical waste areas for disposal in several ways, burning, crushing, and landfilling, depending on the type of these materials, to ensure public safety and preserve the environment.

with airstrikes. The airstrikes continued until late at night. At least 8 people died in the
attacks and 15 were injured.
The main targets were civilian infrastructure. In Kobane an outpatient clinic specialized in
diabetes and supported through a German association was hit and destroyed. Fortunately,
the clinic was closed due to Christmas holidays and no casualties were reported. This center
was serving mainly the elderly people in Kobane city and villages through a mobile clinic.
Now there is no chance to obtain the same services. Fortunately, the clinic was closed due to
