A Journey of Survival… Begins with a Small Step

From the countryside of Qamishli, Jalila Suleiman had no idea that a simple visit to a mobile clinic would completely change the course of her life… That’s where the story began, and that’s where her illness was discovered.
A diagnosis of cervical cancer, and a grueling treatment journey marked by distance and travel costs. She began radiation therapy sessions outside the region before continuing her chemotherapy at the Kurdish Red Crescent’s Oncology and Thalassemia Hospital, where she received continuous care and follow-up.
Today, Jalila is in the observation phase… closer to life, and stronger than the disease.
But the road wasn’t easy, and there’s still a need to provide radiation therapy within the region to alleviate the suffering of many patients facing the same journey.
Jalila’s story… a reminder that the opportunity for treatment can begin with a single visit. 💙

Promoting health and hygiene in shelters: The Kurdish Red Crescent continues its support for displaced people.

With the aim of creating a healthy and safe environment within shelters, the WASH team of the Kurdish Red Crescent continued its efforts to promote hygiene and public health. In coordination with the Afrin Displaced Persons Council, eight shelters for displaced people were provided with hygiene and waste management materials and equipment.

For three consecutive days this month in Qamishli, the Kurdish Red Crescent Civil Defense team, with support from Medico International, provided advanced training to relevant municipal officials, focusing on disaster management and rapid response mechanisms.

603 food baskets distributed to displaced people in Derik as part of the Kurdish Red Crescent campaign with the support of humanitarian partners.

As part of our ongoing efforts to reach our people in rural areas, the Kurdish Red Crescent has launched a mobile clinic campaign in the rural areas of Derik, Qamishli, Amuda, and Karaki Laki.
The clinics provide a range of medical services, including examinations, medication for common and chronic illnesses, and the distribution of infant formula and diapers. They also distribute health awareness brochures on hygiene and public health.
Our campaign continues to reach as many people in need as possible, because health is a right for everyone.
